    Assistant Plant Supervisor

    Position scope

    Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of the hydropower plant.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitoring of instrument readings as per established schedule.
    • Performing physical inspections and approved minor repairs.
    • Performing site tests for condition assessment when appropriate.
    • Operating and maintenance of the power supply to the factory
    • Scheduling preventive maintenance or life extension based condition assessment.
    • Scheduling of Hydro generation in the factory in consultation with the plant supervisor.
    • Implementation of SOPs
    • Assisting the supervisor in the export/ import of power to KPLC and filling of the returns

     Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience and competencies: –

    • O level C- (Minus) or equivalent.
    • Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
    • 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
    • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
    • Report writing and communication.
    • Fault finding and trouble shooting.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

    Wayleave Officer

    Position scope

    Reporting to the Planner, KTDA Power Company, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely acquisition of wayleaves.

    Responsibilities

    • Participating in project land acquisition
    • Facilitating acquisition of power transmission line way leaves;
    • Coordinating valuation and compensation of land, biological assets and other related properties
    • Facilitating in dispute resolution
    • Representing the company in stakeholder meetings;
    • Overseeing acquisition and renewal of permits, licenses, change of user, physical planning and related compliance with Government Agencies;
    • Ensuring payment of rents, land rates etc.
    • Coordinating ESIA assessments, audits, SHE/ OHS

     Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications, experience and competencies: –

    • Bachelors’ degree in Land Economics/Real Estate or equivalent.
    • Minimum five (5) years’ experience preferably in the energy sector.
    • Relevant professional affiliations /MISK Membership.

    • Mastered relevant property valuation software.

    Field Systems Administrator

    Position scope

     Reporting functionally to the Manager, Regional ICT and administratively to the Factory Unit Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of ICT services within the Factory by providing technical support for all sections.

    Responsibilities

    • Working with users to analyze workflow, access, information, and security requirements as well as designing system infrastructure;
    • Installing and configuring servers and application software on all workstations;
    • Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, LAN and WAN networks, and operating systems;
    • Maintaining and monitoring system performance by troubleshooting system hardware, and networks  and documenting system problems and resolutions.
    • Backing up and restoring files and critical data by performing/verifying daily backup for recoverability;
    • Database management and ensuring smooth data replication between factory and KTDA head office.
    • Installing, configuring, supporting and maintenance of electronic weighing solutions (EWS)
    • Performing and/or overseeing new software and application testing, implementation and review in the factory;
    • Supporting the design and implementation of IT policies and procedures;
    • Responsible for documenting technical configuration of installed systems;
    • Testing, evaluating, and installing system enhancements by scouting for new technological innovations within the factories core business areas;
    • Cconducting training to the factory
    • Developing system access, monitoring control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures.
    • Management and administration of system user accounts and passwords;
    • Identifying systems upgrades by conferring with ICTB, vendors and services providers;
    • Ensure timely preparation and distribution of ICT reports as and when they fall due;
    • Responsible for the provision of ICT infrastructure services including desktop, laptops etc.;
    • Assessing the adequacy of the ICT equipment in the factories;
    • Monitoring and coordinating all new and existing ICT Projects and initiatives at the factory.

     Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
    • CCNA/CCNP/MCSE or related professional certification
    • Minimum four (4) years of experience in a similar set up.
    • Technical knowledge of hardware and network installation.
    • Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice
    • Must demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
    • Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams

    Assistant Electrical Engineer

    Position scope

    Reporting to the Electrical Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical engineering maintenance services to KTDA Factories.

    Responsibilities

    • Overseeing new electrical installation for KTDA Factories by managing suppliers to ensure high standards of installed materials and workmanship;
    • Monitoring electrical energy usage for purpose of advising factories on prudent electrical energy management;
    • Liaising with KPLC on matters of electrical supply and maintenance;
    • Assisting factories in electrical maintenance;
    • Participating in the development or testing of electrical aspects of new technologies;
    • Assisting Factories to develop adequate and competent electrical maintenance staff;
    • Supporting electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems;
    • Preparing periodic reports;
    • Performing any other relevant duties that may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –

    • Higher National Diploma in Electrical A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is an added advantage.
    • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience;

    Office Services & Property Coordinator

    Position scope

    Reporting to the Manager, Property, the successful candidate will be responsible for Coordinating office services and property functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Carrying out frequent checks of the common facilities in the building including Conference/meeting rooms, stores and kitchens to ensure they are well kept and fit for purpose.
    • Coordinating the use of the Conference Rooms for scheduled meetings and ensuring that resources are provided.
    • Maintaining vendor and property files, including insurance certificates, outsourced contracts drafts, title deeds copies, etc. in accordance with prescribed standards.
    • Opening work orders, coordinating and monitoring status of work assigned to vendors.
    • Preparing land transaction and registration documents in liaison with legal department.
    • Ensuring that all property documentation records are well maintained, and liaising with the relevant National and County government authorities to regularize any changes.
    • Liaising with the Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator to ensure that the building inspection reports and certificates are obtained and filed accordingly.
    • Attending court cases on land matters from time to time in liaison with legal department.
    • Ensuring timely processing of Administration related service providers’ invoices for payment.
    • Preparing the budget drafts for administration department
    • Facilitating exemption from Stamp Duty for land transactions for KTDA and Her Factory Companies.
    • Facilitating issuance of work permits for foreigners who may be employed by the organization.
    • Ensuring that contracts for the service providers are up to date/ valid, and notifying management on expiry/renewal dates.
    • Ensuring that all Governments Statutory Demand Notes are paid on time.
    • Assisting the Head of Department in the management of KTDA Farmers Company.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications and competencies: –

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Property Management or Business Management related field.
    • Minimum of four (4) years experience in a similar role
    • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
    • Must demonstrate high integrity and ethical practice.
    • Must demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
    • Must be a team player who is able to work cordially in teams.
    • Must demonstrate ability to multi-task.
    • Should have ability to solve problems by applying relevant business knowledge
