    General Physician

    For appointment to this grade an officer must have:

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B)degree from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Master’s degree in Medicine or equivalent qualification from and institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Must have served in Job Group “P” for at least One Year post specialisation;
    • Registration Certificate by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board;
    • Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution.

    Responsibilities

    • Provision of direct clinical care of patients, especially in acute care;
    • Supervision and teaching of the junior medical staff;
    • Evaluation of quality of care outcomes and the implementation of initiatives to enhance quality;
    • Provision of general medicine expertise, which extends to leading the junior and senior doctors in the department’s medical team and receiving referrals from other medical practitioners within the County;
    • Lead the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist medical services to patients;
    • Promote patient safety and quality of care and provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education for doctors in training,
    • Medical Practitioners and other health workers.

    Obstetrician & Gynaecologist

    Job Details

    • Be a Kenyan citizen;
    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B)degree from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent qualification from and institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

    • Undertaking general diagnosis, care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients;
    • Carrying out specialized clinical care;
    • Providing psycho-social interventions;
    • Providing clinical services to patients;
    • Training, consulting and performing surgeries in various health facilities;
    • Carrying out forensic and medico-legal services;
    • Coordinating disease surveillance, prevention and control;
    • Coordinating health education and promotion;
    • Implementing health projects and programmes;
    • Maintaining up-to-date health information systems;
    • Monitoring provision of health treatment and care;
    • Undertaking health research and analyzing medical reports.

    HR Management Assistant Director

    Job Details

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    • Served in the grade of Chief Human Resource Management Officer l or its equivalent for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Master’s degree in Human Resource/Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Public/Business Administration, Government or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

    Responsibilities

    • An officer at this level will be responsible to a senior Assistant Director of Human Resource Management for planning, organizing, administration and control of the activities in Human Resource units;
    • Analyzing the utilization of the human resource in the Department and advising on proper deployment;
    • Making proposals on Human resource planning and succession management;
    • Analyzing staff performance and career progression and making appropriate recommendations;
    • Ensuring correct interpretation and implementation of human resource management policies, rules and regulations including those relating to pensions, salary administration, labour laws and other statutes that impact on the human resource.

    Health Administration Officer

    Job Details

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    • Kenya Certificate of secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade C- or its equivalent qualification with at least a C in English / Kiswahili and Mathematics from a recognized Institution; and
    • Diploma in any of the following:- Health Management, Hospital Administration, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

    Responsibilities

    • An Officer at this level may be deployed at a Sub- District Hospital, Rural Health Training Center, Deployment or a Unit within a large Hospital or to a specific Health Programme where he/she will be exposed to various administrative duties which will include procurement, provision and maintenance of facilities and general upkeep of the hospital.
    • The officer will work under supervision of a more senior officer.

    • Participating in management of medicine, medical instruments and equipment;
    • Providing health education;
    • Maintaining medical records, health information and data;
    • Counseling patients and their relative on diagnosis and bereavement;
    • Teaching and coaching medical student, nursing students and clinical officer interns; and
    • Preparing requisite documents for registration.

    Nurse

    Job Details

    • Be a Kenyan citizen
    • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery. Kenya Registered Nursing/ Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution;
    • Registration Certificate issued by Nursing Council of Kenya;
    • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya; and
    • Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.

    Responsibilities

    • Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patients outcome;
    • Providing appropriate healthcare service including Integrated Management of Childhood illness (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, ante-natal care and delivery, providing health education and Counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs;
    • Referring Patients and clients appropriately;
    • Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans;
    • Maintaining records on patients/clients health condition and care;
    • Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment: and
    • Collecting and compiling data.

    Dental Officer

    Job Details

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (DS) degree or any other equivalent qualification from an Institutions recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
    • Successfully completed one (1) Year Internship from a recognized institution;
    • Be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board with a good professional standing; and
    • Computer Certificate from a recognized institution.

    Responsibilities

    • Providing dental care including: diagnosing common oral conditions, treating, prescribing and referring;
    • Carrying out minor oral and maxillofacial surgery;
    • Prosthetics and conservative dentistry;
    • Facilitating admission, disease investigations of patients, report writing and assisting in theatre activities;
    • Collecting information on dental health information system;
    • Organizing discharge summaries and follow-up of patients; and
    • Acting as the first on call on duty.

    Clinical Officer

    Job Details

    • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
    • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health;
    • Must be registered and licensed with Clinical Officers Council; and
    • Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.

    Responsibilities

    • Taking history, examining, diagnosing and treating patients’ common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient health facility;
    • Implementing Community Health Care activities in liaison with health workers;
    • Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health issues;
    • Sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and promotive health;
    • Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training and skills;
    • Collecting and compiling Clinical data; and Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.
