    Brand and Admissions Associate

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Brand and Admissions Associate to help expand our footprint across Kenya.This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century.  

    About the role:

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Content Creation / Engagement: Building an ecosystem of compelling content that engages current parents and prospective families, drives brand awareness and catapults Nova into the stratosphere of game-changing educational organizations. This includes but is not limited to regular and agreed upon social media engagement (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), student-run blog, regular newsletters, video, and web content. You will be responsible for developing and implementing fresh ideas across a variety of media, and measuring its effectiveness on a bi-weekly basis.
    • Customer Engagement / Events: As the Admissions & Brand Associate, you will be expected to organize and execute events (liaising with external companies and individuals where necessary or applicable) that both creatively encourage increased engagement with current parents, and which drives admissions with prospective families.  You will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data to determine the effectiveness of the admissions events, and for making recommendations on potential improvements.
    • Admissions: Tracking each applicant through the admissions funnel, from application to admissions decision in an organized and timely manner that reflects the Nova brand – as well as monitoring the data to regularly provide updates to your manager and the team on the progress.
    • Communications:Taking the lead on any written, verbal (phone, in person), and electronic (email, SMS) communications to parents of Nova students, this includes copy-editing, proofreading, and revising communications across a variety of channels, and escalating it up to the chain where necessary or prudent.
    • Data & Reporting: Giving the organization visibility into our progress against targets will be a key responsibility in this role.Filling and maintaining the Brand and Admissions dashboard in a timely manner, preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports on activities mapped out will be key to measure our progress against your team’s key objectives.
    • Procurement: Liaising with suppliers (and within a budget set by your manager) to order and refill marketing materials including (but not limited to) promotional materials, decorative materials, admissions materials, Nova swag, etc.

    About You

    Skills and Qualifications required:

    • You have a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of working experience. Experience in marketing and communications is ideal but not required. Experience in a startup or in a company that gave you significant autonomy and responsibility is a plus!
    • You are a great communicator: You are able to provide a clear and persuasive pitch to anyone and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • You are results driven: You are goal oriented, move fast and take ownership of work.
    • You have strong skills working with data: You know how to structure data in a compelling way, analyze data to pull out key insights and trends, and make data-driven decisions.
    • You have strong project management skills: You are able to juggle multiple tasks, provide support to junior level staff and meet deadlines and targets.

    External Relations Intern - Leads Engagement

Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar External Relations Intern to assist in the implementation of partnerships efforts across our school network in Kenya. This is an opportunity to create a transformative brand with the future of Africa’s youth at stake.

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    You will be mainly responsible for telling the Nova Pioneer story to various stakeholders, creating awareness and representing the  Nova Pioneer in the community. The role is based in Kenya.

    You will also :

    • Proactively engage leads via phone and email, keeping records of customer interactions
    • Respond to queries received on social media
    • Provide reports/analytics that aid in decision making on the leads engagement process

    ABOUT YOU

    • You have at least 3 months to 1-year experience building and managing important relationships in marketing, communications and/or business development positions
    • You possess great computer skills- proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint
    • You are a great communicator: You are able to provide a clear and persuasive pitch to anyone and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • You empathetic and have exceptional people skills. You are able to understand the various Nova Pioneers’ stakeholders and think creatively about how to effectively communicate to them.
    • You have very strong organization, time management, and follow‐up skills; high sense of urgency
    • You have the ability to thrive in a fast‐paced, entrepreneurial environment and have a keen interest in startups
    • Experience with Salesforce and Call centers preferred

    Talent Intern

    The position will initially be based at our Westlands office but will require travel to our schools from time to time.

    How will your day to day at Nova look like?

    • Executing the elements of the recruitment and selection e.g. Phone screening, Scheduling Interviews, Coordinating Performance Tasks etc.
    • Coordinating communications with potential interview candidates (Jazz, Telerivet, Email, SMS, Phone) using prescribed communications’ templates.
    • Ensure that all interview logistics are organized and that interview tools are printed in readiness for interviews.
    • Collect and record all interview data during and after interviews.
    • Verify candidate’s background by contacting references and writing clear reference-checking notes.
    • Maintain confidentiality by keeping human resources information confidential.
    • In addition to these duties other duties may be assigned as required.

    2020 Intern Educational Psychologists

    Nova Pioneer is looking for an Intern Educational Psychologist to help provide social wellness, psychological and learning support to students at our schools in South Africa in 2020. The Intern Psychologist will help to implement a comprehensive school psychology program in collaboration with the Deans, Educational Psychologist and Teachers that addresses the academic and personal development needs of our students.

    If your application is successful, a tentative offer will be made, which will allow you to submit a tailored internship programme to the Professional Board for Psychology by 10 July 2019 or 20 September 2019, depending on when you are offered a tentative position. The finalization of the offer will be entirely dependant on your programme being unconditionally approved by the Professional Board for Psychology by no later than 1 December 2019. The offer will fall away if there is no approval by 1 December 2019. 

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Intern Psychologist will be based at one of our schools in Johannesburg will work with Nova Pioneer's educational psychologist to provide educational psychological services to students at your school. This will include individual interventions and assessments, group work, meeting attendance, case management, and consultations with parents and teachers.

    Your key responsibilities will be to:

    • Work under the supervision of Nova Pioneer's educational psychologist, who will act as the site supervisor
    • Provide therapeutic interventions, including play therapy and trauma support to primary school students from Grade 00/000 to Grade 7
    • Provide learning support and remedial interventions to students in the primary school.
    • Conduct psychoeducational assessments of students in the primary school
    • Conduct school readiness assessments of students in Grade R
    • Write professional, useful and psychometrically-sound assessment reports
    • Provide group interventions and facilitate Social and Emotional Learning experiences with an emphasis on prevention in the secondary school
    • Attend Student Support Team meetings and work as part of a collaborative student support team
    • Maintain accurate clinical records
    • Maintain the highest level of professional and ethical conduct, upholding the Professional Rules of Conduct pertaining to the profession of psychology as laid down by the HPCSA

    ABOUT YOU

    Essential: 

    • Have completed or be nearing completion of an accredited master’s degree in educational psychology (no time will be given for completion of course work)
    • Be registered with the HPCSA as an intern psychologist by January 2020
    • Have an individualized internship programme that has been approved by the Professional Board for Psychology by December 2019
    • Be contracted to an external clinical supervisor
    • Be willing and able to work on different campuses of the school

    Ideal:

    • Be available to conduct assessments during the school holidays
    • Have supervised experience in therapeutic interventions and psychological assessment
