What you will do
- Maintain the relevance of our curriculum by staying up to speed with innovations in data analytics, supervised, and unsupervised learning.
- Develop and curate content on the topics of data analysis and exploration, supervised, and unsupervised learning.
- Develop engaging and locally relevant projects and assessments to support the students’ learning.
- Collaborate with peers from the data science, software engineering, and education field to solve problems of education and scaling.
Who You Are
- A competent data scientist, with a desire to learn and remain on the bleeding edge of the field.
- An educator, who can recall when they were a beginner in the field, and use that to best determine how to teach beginner level students.
- A creative problem solver, who can cooperate with peers to solve challenges and seek new opportunities for the data science programme.
What You Have
- 1 year experience teaching or developing educational content for a technical topic.
- A proven track record of data science expertise - either through education, past employment, or personal projects.
- Demonstrated experience with Python, numpy, pandas required. Experience with any ML libraries is highly encouraged.

About the Role
The Outreach and Events Assistant will be responsible for supporting the planning process execution of Events and Outreach activities. This role demands full availability to work on Saturdays, Sundays and on weekdays after office hours.
What You Will Do

Support the Outreach Associate in implementing the set community outreach strategies targeting individual, private, corporate, school and other organizations.

Support the Outreach Associate in identifying new potential outreach venues and communities, individual, private, corporate, school, universities and other potential partners that serve our needs of educating the community on what we do and increasing our brand awareness.

Keep track and supervise levels of stock of swag and marketing collateral required for Outreach activities and anticipate coming production needs to coordinate with procurement and finance in line with procurement lead times.

Research and assist in developing plans for increasing Moringa School’s brand awareness.

Successfully manage the campus ambassadors program; communication, scheduling work plans, tracking and measuring their performance, keeping track of the expenses for monthly revision vs budget, and consolidating the data of leads to pass over to digital for subsequent email marketing.

Actively take a learning approach in deriving a quarterly outreach budget reflected from the planned activities with guidance from the Outreach Associate and Offline Marketing Manager

Objectives for this Role
- Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and departmental heads
- Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
- Review, design, and execute on improvements to org structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them
- Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity
Responsibilities
- CEO Liaison and Representative: Serve as liaison between the CEO and the rest of the company (staff, executives, senior leaders, etc.) regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning
- Oversee daily operations through collaboration with senior management and department leaders, performing an array of tasks from generating communication, planning and coordinating all-team or management meetings, and scheduling facilities
- Board Operations: With the CEO, establish the cadence of board meetings, as well as get ready for those meetings by preparing and sending out materials in advance (collect data from across the organization, such as financial updates or program outcomes, to create dashboards that lay out the information in a concise and clear format, onboard new board members, monitor term lengths, and support CEO’s in researching and recruiting new board members)
- Operational Scalability: Work with People Team, Finance Department, and other Operational functions to ensure processes, policies and systems are scalable and are effective in working with other departments and geographies
- Expansion and Facilities: Support on operational efficiency in launching into new facilities and locations
- Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations, and help to define new operational strategies, working with the CEO and executives on special projects
- Technology Advisement: Support technology team strategically, ensure systems are well documented (not reliant on a single person) and built from scratch only when it makes business sense.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and develop action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications
