Job Purpose:

• This is a key role in the ICT infrastructure. The network LAN/WAN, telephony and any other ICT support environments depend on this role.

Systems Network Admin Job Role / Job Description

• Overseeing administration, management and maintenance of computer network systems and data circuits.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and DNS, Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2003/2007/2010.
• Perform a variety of hands on technical duties related to the installation and maintenance of the computer network and communications hardware and software systems including network and application servers, routers, firewall, LAN, WAN, MPLS and IP phone systems.
• Hands on experience in maintaining cisco switching, routers and cyberoam and Administration
  Responsible for the configuration and installation of network and internet security.
• Responsible for the IT disaster backup and recovery systems
  Windows Desktop Support and Administration, Supporting Microsoft Active Directory Domain Environment (2008/2012), Windows Server Administration, Managing Virtual Server Environment, Maintaining local helpdesk system, offline and online clients support
• Ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment e.g. routers and switches
• Manage planning and maintenance of network cabling
• Provide day-to-day support for Infrastructure and security components such as network switches, firewalls, WAN connectivity, VPN and Anti-Virus
• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with departmental administration regarding pertinent network activities
• Participate in server and security audits, and system backups and recovery
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications for Network Administrator Job

• A university degree in computer science or related field
• Possession of a relevant Network Administration Certificate e.g. CCNA or CCNE
• Systems Administration Certificate e.g. MCSE, MCT etc.
• Five years relevant experience
• Proven experience with network/ systems administration capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
