Software Engineering Manager at Jumo World

Key Responsibilities

• Hands on engineering manager willing to undertake coding as well as management duties
• Be accountable for the team’s delivery
• Lead design and implementation through all phases of the SDLC
• Collaborate and influence peers and management across product management, engineering and channel management teams
• Be a thought leader able to make bold changes, generate new ideas and able to make good ROI decisions in support of Jumo’s business strategy
• Attract, develop and lead great talent
• Be a servant leader acting in the best interests of Jumo and the team.
• Represent the engineering team in cross-organizational forums regarding technical, product and incident topics.
• Manage production operations for a critical financial system

Skills and Competencies

• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead cross organizational initiatives in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment. Must be able to lead through uncertainty
• Strong knowledge of architectural and design patterns, open source platforms and frameworks
• Ability to adapt to changing business priorities and to thrive under pressure
• Hands on experience with enterprise class software running significant transactional volumes
• Ability to manage stressful situations within and between times
• Strong skills with modern development language: Java, Ruby, Python or C++
• Strong communication skills

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software development with 5 in a leadership position and at least 2 years with a team of 10 or more
• 5+ years in an Agile development environment
• Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
