    Business Development Officer

    Supervisor Title : Business Development Manager

    Subsidiary: LITES - Business Development

    Job Summary

    The jobholder is responsible for marketing all LITES products and services to new and existing clients. S/he also offers support to the Business Development Manager in execution of the business strategy to ensure the achievement of the set revenue targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for prospecting for and acquiring new LITES business in order to achieve the business growth targets.
    • Maintaining customer relationships and ensuring customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as meeting all client needs appropriate to their business and sustain the business relationship.
    • Prepares and delivers competitive tenders and quotations for customers and follows up to increase the hit rate.
    • Conducts research on market trends, competitor analysis and customer behavior to generate insights that will provide opportunities to drive growth margins of products, services.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers so as to generate new business opportunities.
    • Develop new business portfolio in close liaison with the business development manager.
    • Compile and organize market intelligence to acquire new business.
    • Actively cross sell LITES products and services on existing accounts.
    • Handle mail and company inquiries on all clients as needed.
    • Assist clients in ensuring customer requests are addressed within the agreed timelines.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Qualification and Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Sales and Marketing or related technical field.
    • A minimum of 3 years working experience in IT with knowledge of IT products, Certifications and ability to make sales.

    • Passion to sell and possess basic networking and sales skills
    • Be result driven
    • Ability to carry out market research and gather intelligence
    • Knowledge of processing tenders and tender requirements
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize work
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
    • Demonstrates effective negotiation and closing techniques
    • Strong analysis and judgment skills
    • Integrity
