    Supply Chain Specialist

    Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

    • Procurement: Responsible for logistics/supply planning through coordination with Supply Section and developing Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) plans. Provides technical advice on specifications, supply and logistics arrangements facilitating cost-effective efficient procurement.
    • Supply management: responsible for inventory monitoring and management and distribution of HIV/AIDS and Malaria drugs and related equipment. Track shipments, regularly creates and communicates accurate inventory, aging and incoming supplies information. Monitors supplies in warehouse and conducts routine warehouse visits. Raises Release orders, coordinates with supply and logistics section, tracks and traces supplies to final destination at zonal warehouses. Approves and tracks invoices and monitors expiries and submits for PSB. Provides annual and quarterly procurement and distribution plans and works with USSC Supply and Logistics Team to update these plans on a regular basis.
    • Monitoring: Conducts field visits, spot checks of PSM implementation and conducts mentorship and supportive-supervision. Regularly creates and communicates accurate inventory tracking, inventory aging and incoming supplies information. Participates in On-site-data-verification and implementation of findings. Monitors the information management of supply chain partners; with a particular focus on supply utilization and forecasting.
    • Reporting: Oversees the overall preparation of appropriate documentation and reporting. Ensure preparation of the supply status reports required for donor reports, budget reviews, programme analysis, annual reports, appeals, etc.
    • Capacity Building: In conjunction with USSC Supply and Logistics Section plan, designs and conducts training for programme partners and counterparts in supply chain management, with particular focus on supply utilization and forecasting, distribution and inventory management of HIV/AIDS and Malaria drugs and related equipment in order to maximize supply delivery.
    • Collaborates with USSC Supply and Logistics section and MoH to enhance supply network information management with particular emphasis on supply utilization and forecasting for HIV and Malaria grants.

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

     

    • Advanced university degree in Supplies and logistics, pharmacy, business, management, or a related field.
    • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, at the national and/or international levels, in supply Chain, logistics management, procurement, Pharmaceuticals and supply chain, contracting, administration and/or other directly-related technical fields is required. Understanding of development and humanitarian work. Health supply chain management experience an advantage. Prior experience with Global Fund programs is a plus.
    • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
    • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is an asset.
