Director Energy & Industrialization at County Public Service Board of Bungoma

The director will be answerable to the Chief Officer Trade, Energy and Industrialization for the following duties;

Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate inter-governmental linkages, projects, implementation of Industrialization policies, strategies and objectives;
• Promote public, Private Partnerships for Industrial Development;
• Identify Business opportunities in the Domestic arena;
• Facilitate growth, development and graduation of MSMIs;
• Monitor impact of Industrial Practices and Make recommendations for improvement
• Promote creativity and innovations;
• Coordinate development of Business Incubation centers, Industrial Parks and County Industrial Development centers;
• Advising the County Monitoring and evaluation committee on matters of industrial development;
• Providing oversight on constituency Industrial Development centers and sheds;
• Collaborating with stakeholders in the counties on Industry, enterprise, investment matters, County Resource Mapping for value addition and investment and
• Carrying out resource surveys and endowment mapping in the counties and identifying industrial investment opportunities.

Requirement for Appointment For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• Served for a cumulative period of ten (10) years relevant experience, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Assistant Director of Industries and Energy, Job Group 'P' and above or in a comparable and relevant position either in the Public or Private sector;
• A bachelors degree In any of the following disciplines; Commerce, Business Administration, Mathematics, Biological/Physical Sciences, Entrepreneurship, statistics, Economics, Project Planning and Management, and Textile Technology, leather Sciences, Environmental Science, Chemical or computer Science from a University recognized in Kenya;
• Masters degree in any of the following disciplines; Commerce, Business Administration, Mathematics, Biological/Physical Sciences, Entrepreneurship, statistics, Economics, Project Planning and Management, and Textile Technology, leather Sciences, Environmental Science, Chemical or computer Science from a University recognized in Kenya;
• A certificate in strategic leadership course from a recognized Institution;
• A thorough knowledge of the economic development needs, strategies, policies and objectives and the ability to translate them into industrial development policies and programmes;
• Demonstrated a high degree of professional, technical and administrative competence as reflected in work performance and results and
• Masters degree in the relevant fields will be an added advantage.
