    Assistant Manager - Customs Policy

    Grade: KRA 5

    Department: Strategy Innovation & Risk Management (S.I.R.M)

    Division: Customs Policy

    Supervisor: Manager – Customs

    Supervisee: Supervisors – Customs Policy Team

    Job summary:

    Participate in KRA’s Legislative agenda and in its effective implementation.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Represent KRA position and role of various Agencies in Trade Facilitation.
    • Provide technical support on customs tax laws.
    • Analyse policy gaps on customs laws and regulations
    • Conduct research and surveys on customs tax administration.
    • Participate and facilitate stakeholder working groups on customs.
    • Attend to any other assignment related to these duties.

    Academic and Professional qualifications

    • University Degree, at least Upper 2nd Class Hons, in a relevant field like Finance, Economics or Law.
    • A Master Degree will be an added advantage.

    Relevant work experience required

    • At least 3 years of experience in relevant technical field.
    • Must have working experience in middle level position.

    Skills required

    • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong oral and written communication skills
    • Team player, Focused and result oriented with high integrity.
    • Ability to work odd hours and under pressure.
    • Computer Literate.
