A/C & Ref Engineering Technician at Intercontinental Hotel Group

 

In this position under the general guidelines and supervision of the Chief Engineer and within the established InterContinental Hotels Group and local hotel policies and procedures will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of A/C and Refrigeration and regularity within the hotel premises.

Ensure the smooth conduct of the shift through customer focused service delivery and effective staff supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

• FINANCIAL RETURNS
  • Participates in energy conservations through proper control of operation schedule.
  • Carry out proper scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce the breakdowns and maintenance costs.
  • PEOPLE
  • Work very closely with the superiors and subordinates
  • Maintains clean work area and follows the safe work environment always
• GUEST EXPERIENCE
  • Attends the guest complaints in timely manner without hindering the guest satisfaction
• RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
  • Do a daily walk around the a/c machinery to ensure good working condition and prevent losses
  • Complies with hotel FLS and other standard policies and procedures.
• ACCOUNTABILITY
  • Will be responsible for the proper maintenance of A/C & Refrigeration Equipments and to ensure to keep the equipments are in good working condition.

Knowledge of;

• Methods and techniques of repairing & maintaining Air conditioning & refrigeration equipment & related facilities.
• Recommended and approved refrigerants used in hotel industry equipments.
• HCCP Food Quality management system requirements.
• Safety requirements for work at height, work on energized & pressurized systems.
• Copper pipe & fittings & joining techniques.
• Gauge water meter reading/ Gauge pressure and temperature readings.
• Technical diploma certificate holder with bias on mechanical Engineering _ Air conditioning & refrigeration option and more than three years experience in hospitality industry.
• Or technical artisan certificate with more than 5 years experience on Ac & R maintenance & installation in hospitality industry.
• Basic electrical wiring training and national trade test on electrical wiring is an added advantage for this role.
• Experience on Chillers service & maintenance required.
