Research and Reporting Manager at Agri Experience Limited

The KRR Manager is responsible for assisting the Managing Director and Founding Director in managing the knowledge sharing, research, and reporting aspects of both firm-wide assignments and client-driven assignments to ensure delivery of high quality work.

Responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out research related to specific assignments
• Participating in proposal development
• Monitoring progress of assignments and data collection
• Sharing knowledge within Agri Experience to support professional development of the team
• Report writing
• Firm-wide Responsibilities
• Serve as a focal point for seed sector research in general, and consistently look out for and share new research findings related to seed systems and sectors in Africa
• Package and disseminate research findings, and contribute to Agri Experience learning agenda
• Maintain Agri Experience information library (including soft files searchable by key words)
• Coach and train Agri Experience staff in writing, editing and presentation skills
• Periodically update contents of Agri Experience website, to include new knowledge pieces
• As directed, liaise with clients and other relevant parties regarding assignments
• Represent Agri Experience in various professional fora

Client-specific Responsibilities

• RESEARCH, LEARNING AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING
• CONSULTING AND IMPLEMENTATION
  • Ensure timely collection of measurements and indicators for client assignments
  • Actively consider and propose new directions and changes, as needed, in project activities
  • Track and keep records of AE-client related activities
  • Manage work of sub-contractors, where assigned, to reach desired goals in desired timeframes
  • Build capacity internally and externally to monitor work progress, and enter required data into database
• WRITING AND REPORTING
  • Develop progress reports, final reports, case studies and other documents related to client assignments
  • Document lessons learnt and success stories on assignments
  • Draft, edit, format reports into AE writing style
  • Develop tables, graphs and PowerPoint slides required for assignments
  • Serve as the main editor for AE written materials, and the writing coach for the AE team
• PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Assist in preparation of work proposals for new client assignments
  • Participate in discussions on work proposals and revisions

Eligibility Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline, Master’s Degree will be an advantage
• At least 8 years’ work experience in an agriculture-based organization. Seed-related experience preferable, but not a must
• Strong writer; able to draft, edit, format and proof-read documents, and able to develop templates
• Highly proficient in MS Office, especially MS Word and PowerPoint
• Strong sense of graphic design
• Able to carry out research, literature reviews, compile findings and develop bibliographies
• Ability to supervise and coach team in report writing
• Strong team player with good people skills
• Working knowledge of, or proficiency in, French will be an advantage
