    Information Systems Officer

    Job Summary

    The Information Systems Officer reports to the Head of Operations. They will be appraised by the HOO in consultation with any other person they interact with, and will maintain close working relationships with the Finance and HR functions.

    Job Description

    The Information Systems Officer is will:

    Develop and roll-out the firm's technology and information management strategy including the ERP.

    • Ensure effective functioning of the of the IT infrastructure, resources and provide IT support to partners and staff firm-wide.
    • Work with management to set strategies for technology investment and advise on IT solutions.
    • Advise on best approach to firm’s technology strategy and operations, including management of IT hardware and software, telecommunications and networks.
    • Be accountable for seamless operation and prompt resolution of IT issues.
    • Ensure adequate support to the practice groups and assure the MP that the firm's information needs in this critical area are met.
    • Advise management on investment in equipment and talent to meet the goals and objectives of the IT function.
    • Direct any resource within the IT function and ensure all key information sources are running efficiently and provide flawless service to all users.
    • Advise management during development of firm-wide policy and procedures for IT equipment and resources acquisition and usage and ensure compliance with all IT policies and procedures.
    • Oversee the management and maintenance of IT assets and ensure outstanding customer service to users.
    • Manage a range of vendor relationships for assets and outsourced service providers; under guidance from HOO will negotiate terms and manage effective usage of these resources.
    • Maintain good working relationship internally and influence at all levels within the firm
    • Oversee systems design, programming, information storage and retrieval, telecommunications and other IT management systems.
    • Evaluate the performance of the firm’s technology resources, both hardware and software, and identify potential alternative information technologies as appropriate. 
    • Oversee software and hardware upgrades and installations, and ensure compliance with confidentiality and data protection and security laws and policies.
    • Supervise and manage staff within the function including conducting performance appraisals.
    • Prepare and monitor the budget in the IT function.
    • Coordinate all other activities related to IT as necessary.

    Education

    Minimum Bachelors Degree in IT/Computer Science (Or equivalent experience) or any other related field from a recognized University

    Experience, Skill and Attributes

    • Minimum 3 years in the IT industry and at least 1 year in a busy  organization preferable in an ERP  environment
    • progressively responsible experience in implementation and maintenance of computer information systems or related
    • Experience in the development, implementation and maintenance ERP systems is an added advantage.

    • Able to resolve problems offering effective solutions 
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Able to plan prioritize and organise the workloads ensuring compliance   of processes and procedures set.
    • Fluency in English is mandatory
    • Should possess excellent research as well as computer skills
    • Focused on performance and results
    • Poised  to work under pressure with high energy and drive
    • Self starter with high degree of  resourcefulness requiring minimal supervision
    • Contributor to the team attention to  detail and accuracy
    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Integrity
    • Excellent presentation skills
