    Head of HR Kenya and East Africa

    Vacancy Description

    The British Council is looking for an experienced HR professional to work as part of the Regional HR team and will have overall HR responsibility for a number of countries in the East Africa Cluster (Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania & Uganda). The successful post holder will be based in Nairobi - Kenya and is expected to collaborate effectively with stakeholders within the cluster.

    The Opportunity

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR generalist to join the SSA HR team. In this role, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the development of strategies, plans, budgets, projects and timelines to deliver the regional people and business plan. He/She is expected to build close relationships with key stakeholders, becoming a trusted partner and enabler. 

    The Role Requirements 

    The Head of Human Resources Kenya & East Africa Cluster in consultation with the SSA HR Director, is key in ensuring HR services in East Africa Cluster effectively support the business. For success in this role, the following are essential:

    • Consultancy and high quality HR service
    • Leadership and business partnering - Internal customer focus
    • Service improvement
    • Line management and functional expertise
