Senior Manager at Expertise Global Consulting Ltd. (EGC)

The Position:

Based in Nairobi, you will be the Senior Manager for EGC’s Business Development and Projects. This role includes developing a pipeline of work for the firm as well as engaging key consultants to support the completion of the work. It will also mean developing the systems for finding, developing and securing business for the firm including materials, resources, networks, and developing knowledge tools for dissemination.

You will also manage the various activities relating to the project cycle through business development, project management and technical delivery as well as client relationship management.

Specifically you will:

• Build the business development processes from the ground up including establishing proposal processes and materials, building teams and finding relevant consultants. You will both lead and support our bids to secure new project contracts, contributing to the development of technical ideas, formation of teams, development of budgets, writing of technical and commercial bid sections.
• Developing communication and knowledge management processes, activities and materials to engage potential clients
• Undertake technical advisory work on a short-term basis to support project implementation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and consultants, and assist in the development of other team members.

The Person:

• At least six years relevant experience, preferably working for an international development consulting firm, and definitely in the development sphere
• Excellent proposal writing skills and demonstrated ability to win projects based on proposals, EOIs and concept notes.
• Project management experience
• Technical knowledge of economic growth, public finance management, policy frameworks and public sector reform in developing countries
• Outstanding communication skills in English (both oral and written), and ability to work in a multinational, multicultural environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, management, and networking/influencing skills to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Degree level educated, preferably with a Masters in a relevant subject (e.g. economics, international development, social sciences, international relations or equivalent)
• Must be based in Nairobi, Kenya
• Willingness to travel as necessary
