    Technical Writing Intern

    Responsibilities

    The Technical Writer Intern will work with the project team, assisting in the following, including but not limited to:

    • Meetings Minutes – taking detailed meetings minutes and compiling a list of action items for each internal and external project meetings.
    • Background Research and Writing – researching background information for required reports.
    • Reports writing – Drafting reports with the guidance of the project team.
    • Proofreading/Copy Editing – assisting the project team with the preparation of final documents for reports.
    • Administrative support – assist in offering administrative support for the project.

    Qualifications

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to successfully perform the job as well as the education requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Environment, Natural Resources, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication, or a related technical field
    • Ability to work remotely without constant, direct supervision.
    • Ability to draft articles/research papers.
    • Willing to share an original writing sample that demonstrate ability to write concise and well-structured prose. The article could have been authored as an academic piece or for other purposes.
    • Experience with or interest in learning Google Suite, especially Google Drive and Google Docs; and Microsoft Office specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
    • Knowledge of and interest in animal welfare, environment conservation and policy issues preferred.
    • Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • A keen eye for detail.
