Job Requirements

• Degree in Social Science
• Senior Management Course
• Ten (10) years of experience in community development work, 5being in supervisory position
• Possess Leadership skills, Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Organizational skills, Ability to work under pressure, Negotiation skills, Ability to build and lead cohesive teams, Problem solving skills
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and integrity.

Job Description

• Administers/Supervises the staff in the section.
• Co-ordinates all community development services in the city and advices the council through the Director on all matters of community development
• Ensures all community development policies as spelt out by the Nairobi County Government are properly translated and implemented
• Organizes and presides over meetings with stakeholders in community development.
• Organizes meetings with staff members in the section
• Plans and sources for community resources
• Plans for programs that will enhance community development
• Plans and advises on staffing needs for the section
• Redeploys staff within the section appropriately for effective working
• Plans and secures working tools for the section
• Ensures a conducive working environment for the employees within the section
• Develops and ensures implementation of an annual work plan for the section
