    Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector

    ASSISTANT MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTOR - REF: NTSA/03/2022/08

    Reporting to the Principal Motor Vehicle Inspector, the job holder is responsible for ascertaining vehicles’ roadworthiness and compliance with road transport regulations.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Making reports on motor vehicle inspections and court cases;
    • Inspection of motor vehicles and affixing of stickers issuance of inspection certificate;
    • Examination and test of motor vehicles;
    • Preparation and Issuing of Prohibition Orders and Compliance Certificates;
    • Data entry of vehicle inspection reports details; and
    • Preparation of certificates of weights and measures.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Diploma in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering from a recognized institution;
    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- (Minus) from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    • A valid Driving License free from any current endorsements; and
    • Fulfil requirements of Chapter six of the constitution of Kenya.

    • Strong organization and inter personal skills;
    • Proficiency in computer applications such as PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel,
    • Access, and Outlook express including financial and statistical packages;
    • Interpersonal skills including being a team player;
    • Integrity and commitment to producing results;
    • Ability to work under pressure; and
    • Ability to get well with the diverse workforce

    Method of Application

    • Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
    • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
    • Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and
    • Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
