    Baker

    Purpose Statement

    Baking is a science! It demands an excellent understanding of baking techniques and precision application of these techniques. Recipes and methodology must be followed to the word to achieve that required end result.

    Position Description

    Main Outputs and Responsibilities for This Position

    1. Have a clear understanding of the use, maintenance and cleaning procedures of all equipment.
    2. Take 100% responsibility for the quality of baked items and display
    3. Follow guidelines always as far as portion sizes, cooking and baking techniques
    4. Keep products at a sufficient level to ensure smooth service.
    5. Portion bulk cooked and dry ingredients and store as per Mugg & Bean specifications
    6. Bake products required for kitchen sections.
    7. Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times
    8. Always follow safe food handling practices
    9. Maintain daily and weekly cleaning schedules
    10. Receive products for the daily baking activities and sign for the issued stock
    11. Follow the recipes as per the bakery recipe file
    12. Perform any reasonable task as requested by management
    13. Relieve or assist in other sections if and when necessary

    Job Evaluation Criteria

    Education and Experience

    Formal Education

    Diploma/certificate in a hospitality and tourism management/food production.

    Experience

    Minimum of 1-year relevant working experience
