    Shift Assistant Production Manager

    Duties And Responsibilities

     

    • Overall responsibility for reporting on shift deliverables and training of production operators in the factory.
    • Ensure that stoves are produced promptly and are produced within quality guidelines.
    • Support the Production Manager in ensuring that the planned quantity of stoves is produced each Shift.
    • Raise issues, problems, and breakdowns with the Engineering team as soon as possible and support the timely resolution.
    • Work closely with the Production Manager and planning department to raise Work Orders.
    • Work closely with other departments to help in the quick resolution of matters affecting production.
    • Supervise and motivate factory workers.
    • Ensure that all factory operators’ records of daily reporting, training and capabilities are up to date.
    • Work with HR in dealing with factory workers’ requests for leave and any other HR-related issues
    • A large part of an assistant production manager’s job is dealing with people. It is important to treat people with respect and treat others how you would like to be treated yourself.
    • Work with department heads to uphold and implement Burn policies and goals.
    • Ensure all the safety protocols are adhered to on the factory floor.
    • Focus on continuous improvement for safety in the workplace.

    Skills and Experience:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering.
    • Experience working in a similar position in sheet metal or a busy manufacturing company
    • Great people skills.
    • A good communicator
    • Problem solver.
    • Hands On
    • Conversant with EHS code and regulations
    • Sheet metal background.
    • Experienced in Microsoft NAV and Microsoft Office.
