    Business Development Executive

     

    Job Purpose

    • To identify, develop, and convert business opportunities into revenue by acquiring new customers, managing customer relationships, coordinating quotations and tenders, supporting project sales, and ensuring effective execution of sales and business development activities to achieve departmental targets.

    Key Responsibilities1. Business Development & Market Expansion

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across target markets and sectors.
    • Generate qualified leads and convert them into sales opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and existing customers.
    • Conduct market mapping and customer prospecting activities.
    • Support market penetration and expansion initiatives.
    • Participate in customer visits, presentations, and business development meetings.
    • Identify partnership and strategic alliance opportunities.

    Revenue Generation & Sales Growth

    • Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
    • Drive revenue growth through customer acquisition and account development.
    • Promote company products, services, and workspace solutions.
    • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
    • Support execution of departmental sales strategies.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
    • Conduct regular customer visits and follow-up activities.
    • Support customer retention and loyalty initiatives.
    • Reactivate dormant customer accounts.
    • Address customer inquiries and coordinate issue resolution.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and responsiveness.

    Customer Database Management (CRM)

    • Maintain accurate and updated customer records within the CRM system.
    • Capture customer interactions, opportunities, and activities.
    • Ensure data integrity and compliance with CRM requirements.
    • Generate customer and sales activity reports.
    • Support customer segmentation and database optimization initiatives.

    Tender Management Support

    • Identify tender opportunities from various platforms and sources.
    • Support preparation and compilation of tender documentation.
    • Track tender submissions and deadlines.
    • Ensure compliance with tender requirements and specifications.
    • Maintain tender registers and tender pipeline reports.
    • Support tender follow-up and communication activities.

    Quotation & Project Sales Management

    • Prepare and issue customer quotations.
    • Conduct timely quotation follow-ups.
    • Track quotation conversion and closure rates.
    • Coordinate project sales opportunities from lead generation to execution.
    • Ensure quotations are accurate, competitive, and aligned with customer requirements.
    • Maintain quotation records and reporting.

    Customer Order & Payment Coordination

    • Coordinate customer orders from confirmation to delivery.
    • Liaise with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, and Finance to ensure order fulfillment.
    • Follow up on customer payments and down payments.
    • Support debt collection and outstanding payment recovery.
    • Provide customers with regular updates on order status and delivery schedules.
    • Resolve order-related issues and customer concerns.

    Sales Operations & Commercial Support

    • Maintain and update the sales pipeline.
    • Support sales forecasting and opportunity tracking.
    • Monitor sales activities and conversion performance.
    • Ensure compliance with sales processes and procedures.
    • Support implementation of sales improvement initiatives.

    Internal & External Communication Management

    • Manage customer communication through Email, IFMIS, and WhatsApp platforms.
    • Ensure professional and timely communication with customers and stakeholders.
    • Maintain proper documentation and communication records.
    • Support IFMIS-related communication and follow-up activities.
    • Ensure compliance with company communication protocols.

    Sales Reporting & Administration

    • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
    • Maintain customer, quotation, tender, and project sales records.
    • Generate pipeline and opportunity tracking reports.
    • Submit activity and performance reports as required.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of sales information.

    Meeting Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and business reviews.
    • Support preparation of meeting reports and action trackers.
    • Follow up on agreed customer and business action points.
    • Represent the department in customer engagements as assigned.

    Interior Design & Workspace Solutions Support

    • Identify workspace solution and interior design opportunities.
    • Gather customer requirements and project information.
    • Support preparation of layouts, concepts, and proposals.
    • Coordinate customer approvals and project follow-ups.
    • Promote workspace solutions and project opportunities.

    Team Participation & Compliance

    • Collaborate effectively with departmental team members.
    • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
    • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all business activities.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

    Qualifications & ExperienceAcademic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Commerce, Economics, Interior Design, Procurement, or a related field from a recognized institution.

    Professional Qualifications

    • Professional certification in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Business Development, or Project Management is an added advantage.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Customer Service, or a related commercial role.
    • Experience in B2B sales, tender management, project sales, or workspace solutions is an added advantage.
    • Experience working with Government, NGO, Corporate, Banking, Healthcare, Education, or Real Estate sectors is desirable.

    Technical Competencies
