Business Development Manager - Coating & Construction at Stratostaff

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Sales Targets: Achieve set sales targets and forecasts. Identify opportunities for campaigns, fairs, services and distribution channels that will increase sales;
2. Reporting: Daily/ weekly reporting. Schedule, conduct and report on technical visits to customers;
3. Database Management: Update market information and database on all products/customers on monthly basis;
4. Project Coordination: Identify and update projects;
5. Relationship Management: Develop key customer relationships. Follow-up on customer payment/collections;
6. Supplier Management: Manage key suppliers to increase exclusive supplier business. Assist in developing of supplier products within Kenya and neighboring countries;
7. Team Leadership: Train and provide technical support to the sales team;
8. Market Intelligence: Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions and competitors to improve the organization’s market position. Identify new business opportunities;
9. Product Pricing: Participate in setting pricing solutions;
10. Stores Management: Coordinate with stores manager on warehouse management, distribution and safety management;
11. Attend industry events.

General Duties:

1. Maintain Good Housekeeping Practices;
2. Adhere to Company Standard Operating Procedures, Policies & Code of Business Ethics and Procedures at all times;
3. Adhere to company Health and Safety procedures and report any incidents to the Health and Safety Representative in your organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. At least 7-10 years’ of experience working in the relevant industry;
2. Bachelor’s degree in Business or chemistry related field;
3. Relevant Industry related knowledge;
4. SAP Knowledge an advantage;
5. Able to analyze data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions;
6. Sales experience is essential;
7. Valid driver’s license;
8. Strong negotiation skills, with ability to follow through on client contracts;
9. Travel and overtime will be required where necessary.
