    Business Development Manager

    Would you like to make customers feel valued and encourage them to remain loyal to DPDHL Company?

    Your task will be:

    • Develop the perishables market with flowers/vegetables/meat/fish as major products.
    • Strong direct contact with the growers and buyers for the above products.
    • Ensure that the sales goals for the relevant major/strategic key accounts are met
    • Plan and control acquisition, proposal preparation, customer support, and customer consulting
    • Coordinate internal and external resources (e.g., Marketing, Product Development, Customer Support) to optimally meet the customers’ needs
    • Define and/or further develop the proposal processes and (customer-specific) services
    • Carry out pricing and discounting for assigned key accounts and manage/control contractual negotiations with the assigned key accounts with the aim of achieving the best possible conditions for DPDHL
    • Take responsibility for sales planning and perform sales activities for the key accounts (revenue planning/ visits, events)
    • Process complex, strategically important projects/acquisitions independently
    • Identify and implement process improvements in the area of Key Account Management and contribute to them accordingly
    • Identify problems that may not be clear in own area of authority and modify work methods accordingly
    • Use influence to convince and sometimes negotiate with external parties to accept complete proposals and programs where there is little interest in cooperating or participating
    • Closes business connecting a customer need with a DPDHL solution and the value it may create for the customer.
    • Uses networks within DPDHL to collaborate on customers, marketing strategies and offers a full supply chain of services to service customer needs.

    Your profile should look like:

    • Experience in Perishables Business Development within the East African Market
    • Minimum 5-7yrs knowledge and experience in Freight Forwarding with a focus on Perishables, Logistics and Transportation
    • Strong relationships with relevant stakeholders e.g. farms, transporters, handling centers, carriers
    • Knowledge and experience of managing multiple/varied customers
    • Good communication and presentation skills, superior selling experience in competitive markets
    • Excellent analytical skills
    • Fully computer literate, with a solid knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
    • Enjoys communication and interaction with people
    • Highly result oriented
