    Business Development Manager - Pensions

    Job Summary

    • The Business Development Manager (Pensions) is responsible for the acquisition, growth and retention of the pension and institutional book of ICEA LION Asset Management Limited (ILAM) through the segregated pension fund management, ILAM Umbrella Fund and ILAM Income Draw down Fund. The jobholder will champion the development, review and marketing of the pension products/services, raise the company profile and brand, and manage stakeholder relationships.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    Business Development

    • Formulate and contribute to the development and delivery of a successful business strategy for the pension business.
    • Execute the set company strategy on business acquisition and retention for the pension business.
    • Spearhead new business acquisitions, leading to growth in the assets under management from pension schemes and ILAM pension products which include the segregated umbrella fund and segregated income draw down fund.
    • Coordinate and participate in client relationship management activities for the retention of existing clients.
    • Participate in pension product development by maintaining customer insights and market intelligence and periodically reviewing existing pension products to enhance proposition.
    • Prepare and follow-up of tenders and proposals to potential pension clients.
    • Continuously review and benchmark our pitch/proposal documents so that they remain relevant and compliant with standards
    • Primary contact point for new clients providing an effective handover plan into the account management channel.
    • Develop long-term relationships with an assigned portfolio of clients, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders up to and including the executive level, promoting business retention and cross-selling.
    • Monitor and present production figures on a monthly basis to ensure that production is in line with strategic plans.

    Marketing

    • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of all marketing material for all pension products
    • Prepare relevant content for pension offerings for website upload and maintenance.
    • Develop and maintain a marketing database for our pension products.
    • Introduce the company to prospective clients through electronic and written channels.
    • Maintain close contact with all market intermediaries such as scheme administrators, custodians, actuaries, consultants.

    Requirements

    Academic And Professional Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field from a recognized university.
    • At least 7 years’ experience in pension fund management, pension administration or insurance.
    • Experience in sales, business development or client relationship management.
    • Professional qualification in related studies is an added advantage
