    Business Processing Officer – Retail

    Employment Terms: Permanent & Pensionable

    Role Purpose

    Facilitate timely documentation of retail portfolio and policy maintenance of retail book. Provide dedicated and comprehensive service to the intermediaries and clients with a proactive approach to ensure business retention of the schemes and policies by meeting set service timelines while ensuring underwriting guidelines and controls are strictly adhered to and enforced.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Receive retail business application documents and vet for completeness of initial data provided for set up/addition/deletions/mid–term adjustments and card production.
    • Timely processing of membership documents i.e., acceptance letters, membership schedule, membership cards, cover confirmation letters and policy documents
    • Monitoring policy holder claims utilization – Sending Member statements to Intermediary/policy holder to advise members on balance of cover especially
    • Ensure accurate system capture of medical benefits purchased and members covered, prompt debiting and dispatch of premiums invoices and the renewal/commencement premium schedules to the client/intermediary.
    • Ensure printing and dispatch of premium debits/credits and reconciliations of schemes managed promptly, correctly and efficiently.
    • Production of credit note after 90 days of deletion and on verification of no claims paid.
    • Handling of queries on coverage/card/debit and credit note and other from brokers, members, claims team, service providers.
    • Prepare policy documents and endorsements within agreed TATs
    • Re–indexing of all relevant membership DME documents to the group/member contact as appropriate.

    Qualifications

    • An undergraduate degree in Social Sciences or Business related from a recognised institution
    • Professional insurance qualifications – CII/COP an added advantage

    Relevant Experience

    • At least 2 years of experience in an operational setting preferably from the insurance sector.
