Butcherman - Restaurant at Nexus Staffing Solutions

Nexus Staffing Solutions Limited is urgently recruiting on behalf of its client, a butchery based in Uthiru 87, for a skilled, experienced and customer-oriented Butcher.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting, preparing and handling different types of meat while ensuring accuracy, quality, proper hygiene and excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate must have strong practical meat-cutting skills, good knowledge of different meat cuts and the ability to serve customers professionally.

Candidates residing in Uthiru 87, Kikuyu, Wangige and neighbouring areas are strongly encouraged to apply due to proximity to the workplace.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Cut, trim and prepare meat according to customer requirements.
• Portion and package meat accurately while maintaining quality standards.
• Identify and prepare different meat cuts appropriately.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and preservation of meat.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the butchery, equipment and work surfaces.
• Operate and maintain butchery tools and equipment safely.
• Assist customers with their meat selections and provide appropriate guidance.
• Ensure accurate weighing and packaging of customer orders.
• Monitor meat stock and communicate replenishment requirements.
• Observe food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' practical experience working as a Butcher.
• Demonstrable expertise in cutting, trimming, portioning and preparing different meat cuts.
• Good knowledge of meat handling, storage and hygiene practices.
• Ability to operate butchery tools and equipment safely.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service and client-handling abilities.
• Respectful, honest, disciplined and reliable.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of accuracy.
• Candidates residing in Uthiru 87, Kikuyu or Wangige will have an added advantage.
• Must be available to report immediately or at short notice.
