    Buying Operations Analyst

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Maximize value for money

    • Gain alignment on the category strategy with regional stakeholders (Supply, finance, SQA, etc.) and Drive actions timplement strategy and deliver against cost saving activities.
    • Lead the development and execution of local Cost Of Goods Sold (COGS) initiatives and specification changes in coordination with the relevant stakeholders
    • Participate in building the annual operating plan for the region and Ensure that the global/regional buyer's operating plan input is executed within the region.
    • Ensure contractual allocation made by strategic buyer.
    • Negotiate and challenge supplier's quality, price (where appropriate, non-regional/global category materials), service, lead times, minimum order quantities & payment terms in order tget the best value for every dollar spent.
    • Provide categories regional management for PPV.
    • Provide the necessary support tNAI site logistics in ensuring supply continuity.
    • Provide regional expertise and market intelligence for the Global / regional Categories teams.
    • Provide Commercial leadership for new supplier introductions and approvals.
    • Manage and provide input tthe Strategic Sourcing on overall primes’ suppliers’ performance (quality and service).
    • Provide the commercial support tthe activity management work streams.
    • Provide Commercial leadership thelp resolve supplier issues and non-conformance when site logistics are unable t- only escalate tthe Buyer when serious.
    • Accountable for new supplier and specification introduction/changes including supplier screening, selection and follow up on validation with Supplier Quality Assurance and R&D
    • Optimize and protect the supply chain
    • Contribute tWorld-class management of Working Capital through Day Raws and Packs Outstanding (DRPO) initiatives (e.g. stock reductions)
    • Provide local/regional management of Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and buying performance metrics
    • Manage the contracting process including request for quotation (RFQs) & tenders (where appropriate, non-regional/global category materials) and contract creation & Pissuance (samples) in line with the Mars policies and procedures. Support Buyers in issuing contracts and having them signed by Suppliers
    • Manage Mars Intellectual Property with the support of the regional IP Commercial representatives, using the appropriate Confidentiality agreements and supply contracts in order tensure Mars is protected. Ensure timely renewal of such agreements
    • Ensure responsible and continuous supply
    • Provide necessary support tsites logistics in ensuring supply continuity, managing stocks and pipelines.
    • Ensure zerrun-outs due tmaterials availability
    • Determine and manage internal client’s needs. Communicate as required with global/regional buyers and suppliers
    • Accountable tensure that supplier performance reviews are conducted bi-annually in coordination with SQA.
    • Support SQA in developing supplier performance scorecards and provide commercial leadership for the proactive measurement of supplier performance (Supplier compliance scorecards)
    • Provide input tthe Buyer on overall supplier performance (quality of service).
    • Ensures that Continuous Improvement plans are in place and followed through with major suppliers.
    • Manage & develop day tday relationship with suppliers and Provide commercial leadership tresolve disputes, supplier issues and non-conformance when site logistics /SQA are unable tduring the contractual period. Escalate tBuyer when appropriate
    • Support SQA/Site Logistics tensure raw suppliers commit tresolving all reported non-conformances (quality or service)
    • Provide information on volume forecast tglobal buyers
    • Monitor commodity trends periodically and provide local expertise and market intelligence for the Global category teams in order tanticipate future risks/opportunities
    • Lead new supplier and specification introduction/changes including supplier screening, selection and follow up on validation with SQA and R&D
    • Responsible, in alignment with SQA, tensure that specifications are industry appropriate and can be efficiently delivered by potential suppliers
    • provide support tsustainability initiatives (local/regional/global) tensure compliance ttargets in relation traw materials
    • Interact with R&D and ATG as needed in order tsupport the introduction of new raw materials &packaging materials
    • Work closely with internal clients & SQA in order tminimize the risks on the factory by developing backups for all raw materials
    • Work closely with SQA in order tdrive the local supplier development programs
    • Work closely with internal clients & suppliers tensure the right specifications are purchased

    Leverage External Capabilities

    • Provide local expertise and market intelligence for the global category teams
    • Provide Commercial leadership for new supplier introductions and approvals
    • Support other functions in organizing supplier days
    • Attend external forums and maintain market knowledge on new trends

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Education & Professional Qualification
    • Bachelor Degree of BA or BSC from a Reputable University
    • Knowledge/Experience
    • 2-5 years of experience preferably Commercial/Purchasing in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) field
