Cashier - Restaurant at Nexus Staffing Solutions

Our client, a busy restaurant in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, is looking for a reliable, accurate and customer-focused Cashier to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling customer payments, operating the POS system, maintaining accurate transaction records and providing professional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and process customer payments accurately. 
• Operate the restaurant\'s POS/cashier system. 
• Issue receipts and maintain accurate transaction records. 
• Handle cash, mobile money and other approved payment methods. 
• Reconcile cash and payment transactions at the end of shifts. 
• Respond professionally to customer enquiries. 
• Maintain an organised and clean cashier station. 
• Coordinate with waitstaff and kitchen staff to ensure accurate billing. 
• Report discrepancies or payment issues promptly. 
• Follow established cash-handling and restaurant procedures. 

Requirements

• Previous experience as a cashier, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality environment. 
• Experience using a POS system is an added advantage. 
• Good numerical and basic computer skills. 
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
• Good customer service and communication skills. 
• Honest, responsible and trustworthy. 
• Ability to remain calm and accurate during busy service periods. 
• Good personal presentation. 
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays where required.
