Waiter / Waitress at Nexus Staffing Solutions

Nexus Staffing Solutions Limited is urgently recruiting on behalf of its client, a restaurant located in Umoja, Nairobi, for a customer-focused, presentable and reliable Waiter/Waitress.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking customer orders, processing transactions through the Point of Sale (POS) system and ensuring a smooth dining experience.

Candidates residing in Umoja or neighbouring areas are strongly encouraged to apply, as proximity to the workplace and ability to report to work reliably are important considerations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and attend to customers professionally and courteously.
• Present menus, explain available dishes and assist customers with their orders.
• Take accurate customer orders and relay them to the kitchen.
• Operate the restaurant\'s POS system to process orders, payments and receipts.
• Ensure customer orders are served accurately and promptly.
• Handle customer enquiries, requests and complaints professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of tables and the dining area.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Process customer bills and ensure accurate payment handling.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, presentation and customer service.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience working as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant or hospitality establishment.
• Practical experience operating a restaurant POS system is highly desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused with a pleasant and professional attitude.
• Basic numeracy and ability to handle customer payments accurately.
• Ability to work in a busy restaurant environment.
• Honest, reliable, punctual and well-presented.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
