    Centre of Excellence Team Leader

    Key Requirements: 

    • Provide vision, identify goals and clear goals of the Centre of Excellence as is needed to execute its mandate to promote Conservation Agriculture, encourage crop rotation and support farmers.
    • Set clear goals for the team and develop strategies, guide and support the team towards the realization of the goals.
    • Onboard, train, support and ensure the Field Officers are adequately prepared to execute their mandate to support farmers embrace Conservation Agriculture and grow canola
    • Develop work plans and ensure timely implementation of activities in line with work plans and activity schedules.
    • Provide inspirational leadership to the team, build trust, and inspire team spirit and a supportive culture within the team and across other Company activities.
    • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with Field Officers working in remote locations.
    • Track day-to-day work of staff in each region through meetings, visits, telephone calls, emails and electronic software.
    • Prepare Centre of Excellence’s annual operational budget needed to support the goals for consideration by the top management.
    • Keep relevant Centre of Excellence data and information and ensure its availability in a timely manner.
    • Identify, monitor, sort and advise on challenges and risks facing the Centre.
    • Prepare annual progress status reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
    • Work with various stakeholders.
    • Ensure appropriate structures and conditions are in place to enable regions to produce enough canola seed for processing at the two factories.
    • Develop and maintain a clear forecasted conduit for seed from the planning, contracting, growing, harvesting through to delivery to the Company’s factories.

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
    • Excellent planning skills, and ability to work within set deadlines.
    • Direct experience working in an agricultural context is required,
    • Resource planning, assessment requirement and budgeting skills.
    • Effective communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Good organizational and decision-making skills.
    • Able to work with people from different backgrounds and culture.
    • Self-driven and able to work under minimum supervision.
    • Can work under pressure to deliver results.
    • Highly technically proficient with equipment and IT. Able to identify, implement and maintain technical solutions.
