Chief Superintendent (Agricultural) at Kitui County

Requirement for appointment

For appointment to this grade an officer must have:-

1. Served in the grade of Senior Superintendent (Agriculture) or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
2. Diploma in a field of Agricultural Engineering such as Soil and Water, Mechanization/Farm Power, Structures, Surveying or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;

OR

1. Technician Part III Certificate in a field of Agricultural Engineering such as Soil and Water, Mechanization/Farm Power, Structures, Surveying or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
2. Attended a Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
3. Proficiency in relevant Computer application; and
4. Demonstrated a high degree of technical competence, merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Coordination of activities related to environment and land use management;
2. Soil and water conservation;
3. Water harvesting;
4. Mechanization extension;
5. Farm structures;
6. Agro processing; and
7. Training and supervising project staff.
