    Requirements for Appointment

    For Appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    1. Coordinating design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of sports programmes and activities;
    2. Liaising with relevant stakeholders in mobilizing resources for sports programmes and activities;
    3. Coordinating research and innovation in sports;
    4. Ensuring annual work plans, procurement plans and budgeting for the department is undertaken;
    5. Coordinating cash awards and honors scheme for sports persons and veterans;
    6. Mainstreaming of sports affairs at local, national and international levels;

    5. Partnering with public, and private organizations and individuals in developing Sports facilities in the County;
    6. Liaising with sports federations, clubs and teams in conducting clinics to promote sports standards;
    7. Recommending exceptionally talented individuals to Sports Department Headquarters, Sports Federations, clubs or sports academics;
    8. Collaborating with Sports Federations to monitor doping in sports;
    9. Conduction sports seminars, workshops, clinics, retreats and symposia for sports officials;

    Assistant Director – Community Development

    Requirements for Appointment

    For Appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    1. Served for a minimum period of three (3) years in the grade of Principal Community Development Officer;
    2. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Community Development, Development Studies or any other relevant Social Science from an institution recognized in Kenya;

    1. Participate in startup and expansion of Youth, Women and PWD programs in the County;
    2. Supervise the identification and registration of Members for Youth, Women and PWD program activities in the County;
    3. Supervise implementation of the project activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans;
    4. Ensure compliance and adherence to Government policies and requirements;
    5. Responsible for community mobilization/sensitization and other related activities;
    6. Supervise preparation of periodic reports and other documents as required;
    7. Supervise identification of training needs for Youth, Women and PWD;
    8. Provide proposals on relevant training to meet identified needs;
    9. Organize and conduct regular meetings with Youth, Women and PWD in view of improving the program activities; and

    3. Evaluating and Monitoring implementation of curriculum in ECDE centers in the County;
    4. Coordination of the management of curriculum in the ECDE centers in the County;
    5. Ensuring implementation of National and County specific policies and legislation on ECDE;
    6. Ensuring smooth running of the childcare provision within the County;
    7. Ensuring the overall staff and organizational development for the various childcare facilities;
    8. Developing partnership with the early years and childcare development experts to ensure the childcare provision meets the best practice for the early childhood development;
    9. Developing innovative ideas and solutions to improve the delivery of the ECDE and childcare provision;
    10. Liaising with donors and financiers on matters regarding construction and equipping of ECDE centers
    11. Ensuring that childcare centers promote children’s holistic development, play and learning;
    12. Ensuring that child protection policies and procedures are adhered to at all times in liaison with the children officer;
    13. Ensuring that relevant support is given to staff development and training; and

    Method of Application

    The completed KCPS 2 Form, together with certified copies of applicant’s academic/professional certificates, letter of appointment/promotion to their present grade and National Identity Card should reach the office of the Board Secretary, Kitui County Public Service Board, on or before Monday, 13th June, 2022.

    Short listed candidates shall be required to produce both originals and certified copies of their National Identity Card, Academic and Professional certificates and transcripts, letter of appointment/promotion to the current substantive post during interview. In addition, they will be required to ensure that the Head of Department’s recommendation on KCPS 2A Form is forwarded before the interview.
