Principal Internal Auditor at Kitui County

Requirements for Appointment

1. Served in the grade of Chief Internal Auditor for at least three (3) years and is in possession of CPA Part III or CIA Part IV;

OR

1. Served in the grade of Chief Internal Auditor for at least three (3) years and is in possession of Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance) option and holds a Post graduate Diploma in Internal Auditing or its equivalent

OR

1. Served in the grade of Chief Internal Auditor for at least three (3) years and is in possession of Master’s degree in Business Administration/Master of Science in Auditing and Consultancy;

OR

1. Served for at least five (5) years in the grade of Chief Internal Auditor and in possession of CPA Part II or CIA Part III;
2. Have demonstrated administrative capabilities and a high degree of competence in planning, conducting and supervision both financial and management audits as well as running a unit efficiently; and
3. Be a person of high integrity and has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

1. Identifying activities subject to audit, coverage, evaluating their significance and assessing the degree of risk inherent in terms of the audit cost involved;
2. Determining adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems;
3. Carrying out investigations on irregularities identified or reported in audit reports; and
4. Ensuring Government assets are safeguarded and properly utilized.
