Commercial & Business Development Manager – Events & Hospitality at CDL Human Resource

 Role Purpose

• We are seeking a commercially driven, entrepreneurial and hands-on Commercial & Business Development Manager to develop our client's property into a sustainable and profitable business.
• The successful candidate will assess the property and market, identify commercial opportunities, develop revenue streams, build strategic partnerships and drive implementation.

Business Context

• Our client has a developing property in Kiambu County with potential for outdoor events, hospitality, leisure, entertainment or other commercially viable activities.
• The business model is not predetermined. The successful candidate will assess the property, market and available resources and recommend the most viable commercial proposition.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the property, market, competition and commercial opportunities.
• Develop the business model, business plan and revenue strategy.
• Identify target markets, products, services and revenue streams.
• Develop pricing, revenue targets and operating budgets.
• Monitor revenue, costs, cash flow and P&L performance.
• Develop strategic partnerships with corporates, event organisers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Drive sales, marketing, customer acquisition and new business development.
• Identify required infrastructure and investment and prioritise based on potential returns.
• Develop appropriate operating systems, processes and staffing structures.
• Lead implementation of the approved business model.
• Establish KPIs and provide regular performance reports to the Owner/Shareholder.

Candidate Profile

• We are seeking an entrepreneurial business builder, not simply an events coordinator.

Mandatory Industry Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in events, hospitality, leisure, tourism, entertainment, venue management, experiential marketing, property activation, sales or business development.
• The candidate must also demonstrate experience in commercial development, revenue generation, client acquisition, partnerships and business growth.
