JOB PURPOSE
- The Senior Exports Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day export operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and high customer satisfaction. The role coordinates export activities, supports business development initiatives, monitors team performance, and ensures timely execution of all export processes in line with company standards and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Supervision
- Supervise daily export operations to ensure timely execution of customer requirements.
- Coordinate documentation, customs clearance, shipping, transport, and warehouse activities.
- Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
- Escalate operational risks and service issues promptly.
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ensure service excellence.
- Resolve customer concerns within agreed service levels.
- Conduct client service reviews and support customer retention initiatives.
- Support tariff reviews and implementation.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, KRA requirements, and company procedures.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and productivity.

Business Development Support
- Support the identification of new business opportunities.

Team Leadership

JOB PURPOSE
- To lead and manage the Company's transport operations by ensuring the efficient planning, allocation, execution and monitoring of transport activities while optimizing fleet utilization, managing transporter relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, controlling transport costs and delivering exceptional customer service in line with operational and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Transport Operations Management
- Lead the planning, coordination and execution of all transport operations to ensure timely cargo movement and service delivery.
- Develop transport schedules, allocate resources and monitor execution to maximize fleet utilization and operational efficiency.
- Ensure daily transport activities are executed in accordance with customer requirements and operational priorities.
- Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions to resolve delays and service disruptions.
Transport Planning & Fleet Optimization
- Optimize truck allocation, route planning and transporter utilization to improve operational efficiency and reduce transport costs.
- Monitor transporter performance, equipment availability and capacity planning to meet customer demand.
- Ensure effective planning of loading schedules, departures and delivery timelines.
- Transporter & Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with transport service providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective transport solutions.
- Evaluate transporter performance against agreed service levels and contractual obligations.
- Support transporter onboarding, qualification and performance improvement initiatives.
- Participate in rate negotiations to improve transport cost competitiveness.
Customs & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all transport-related customs documentation and statutory requirements, including T1s, Exit Notes, T812 documentation and transit regulations.
- Monitor changes in customs regulations and implement operational changes where required.
- Ensure transport documentation is processed accurately and within required timelines.
Customer Service & Operational Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Commercial, Customer Service, Customs and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless transport execution.
- Ensure customer queries, transport exceptions and operational issues are resolved promptly.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding shipment status and delivery performance.
Performance Reporting & Cost Management
- Prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly transport performance reports.
- Monitor transport costs, transporter buying rates and operational KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
- Analyse operational performance trends and recommend initiatives that improve efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, coach and develop the transport team to achieve operational excellence.
- Conduct performance reviews and ensure individual objectives align with departmental goals.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, compliance and service delivery.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and operational discipline.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in transport or logistics operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role within the Logistics, Transport, Freight Forwarding, or Supply Chain Management industry.
- Strong understanding of clearing & forwarding, customs procedures and regional transit operations.
- Working knowledge of KRA, KPA, URA and regional customs systems.
- ERP and transport management system experience is highly desirable

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, Operations, or a related field. Equivalent senior-level professional experience may be considered.
- At least 5 years' experience*in leadership, operations management, outsourcing, professional services, staffing, recruitment, client success, or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams, managers, or department-level functions.
- Experience working with executives, business owners, senior leaders, or international clients.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, interviewing, employee management, and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with U.S.-based companies, international organizations, remote teams, outsourcing businesses, or professional staffing organizations is an advantage.
