Communication Intern at Egerton University

Position Summary

• The Communication Intern will support the production of high-quality visual and multimedia content that aligns with the TAGDev corporate brand. The role will primarily focus on video production, photography, motion graphics, and graphic design to strengthen TAGDev’s visibility across digital platforms, events, and publications.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, shoot, and edit videos documenting TAGDev activities, student stories, and events.
• Capture and edit photographs for reports, websites, and social media.
• Design digital and print communication materials, including posters, reports, newsletters, and branded templates.
• Create motion graphics and animations for digital platforms and program campaigns.
• Support live coverage of events through photography, videography, and real-time content production.
• Collaborate with program teams to document success stories, testimonials, and case studies in visual formats.
• Ensure all communication products adhere to TAGDev corporate branding guidelines.
• Perform any other communication-related duties assigned by the Program Coordinator.

Requirements and Competences

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Film/Media Studies, Graphic Design, or a related field at Egerton University not earlier than 2023, with at least Upper Second Class Honours.
• Demonstrated skills in audio-visual production (video shooting, editing, and sound design).
• Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva).
• Strong knowledge of video editing tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar).
• Skills in motion graphics and animation (Adobe After Effects or equivalent).
• Experience in photography and photo editing (Lightroom, Photoshop).
• Creativity in visual storytelling with attention to detail and branding.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Proactive, innovative, and adaptable to emerging communication needs.
