Communication Intern at Mercy Corps

Key Responsibilities.

• Assist in developing and maintaining a consistent content calendar.
• Attend events with TT and/or the SMT team and capture content to create social cards for the different channels.
• Respond to social media queries after cross checking with the team member question relates to ensure there is alignment.
• Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
• Respond to comments and DMs on social media platforms.
• Brainstorm and research ideas for original content.
• Create compelling graphics to share across social channels ie infographics, motion videos.
• Help create and edit short form videos.
• Develop new strategies for increasing engagement.
• Assist with photo/video content shoots.
• Ensure brand message is consistent.
• Assist in managing & updating the website (ALE)
• Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission.
• Other duties as assigned.

Learning Objectives                                                                                                      

The intern will:

• Develop critical-thinking skills by contributing original ideas directly to organization head and development team in brainstorm and ideation sessions.
• Intern will develop better written communication skills by producing original online content

Qualifications                                                                                                  

• Bachelor’s degree in communication or any related field
• Design & creating videos will be an added advantage.
• A good team player
