About the Role

The Communications Officer plays a key role in advancing Hatua’s fundraising, donor engagement, and growth goals. The position brings Hatua’s work and impact to life through compelling stories, social media content, images, newsletters, appeals, and other communications that inspire people to take action. Working closely with the Development Coordinator to support donor outreach, individual sponsorship campaigns, and annual reports, the Communications Officer helps strengthen relationships with existing partners, cultivate new supporters, and increase Hatua’s public visibility. This is an ideal role for a creative writer and graphic designer who is passionate about youth development and has strong storytelling and persuasive communication skills. The successful candidate will bring Hatua’s stories to life through compelling words and visuals that inspire potential partners to support and become part of our work.

Qualifications
Education:

• A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Graphic Design, Media Studies, or another relevant field.
• Candidates with qualifications or work experience may be considered if they demonstrate relevant communications experience and a strong portfolio of written and visual work.

Experience:

• 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, digital media, or content creation.
• Experience producing written and visual content for social media, websites, newsletters, reports, or campaigns.
• Nonprofit or youth-development experience is an advantage.
