    Continuity of Business(CoB) Coordinator East Africa

    Job Purpose:

    The primary objective of this role is to:

    • Lead and support Citi’s Citi Business Continuity Management (CBCM) program across all business lines and functions within the countries and ensure invocation readiness
    • Use infrastructure technology knowledge and identified policies to process data, resolve issues and execute administrative tasks.
    • Internal customer facing role responsible for interacting with Citi’s internal stakeholders to ensure that our Continuity of Business program is delivered to support their needs, as well as communicating key changes and strategy implementation.
    • The role reports to the MEA CBCM Cluster Head and will work closely with Regional and Global CBCM teams and with the local Country Management. It will also have a matrix reporting to the O&T Heads in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia

    Job Background/Context:

    • The Continuity of Business (CoB) program is designed to safeguard Citi’s staff, business operations, and technology under a diverse set of conditions, including a resolution event.
    • All Citi Businesses are required to implement a CoB Program that includes: Assessment, Crisis Management, Planning, Testing, Maintenance, Quality Review, Monitoring and Reporting, Training, Awareness, and Communications.
    • The CBCM organization is responsible for developing and managing the enterprise-wide Enterprise Resilience (ER) policy, standards, tools, and guidance.
    • The role is instrumental in keeping Citi’s employees, on-site staff, locations, and processes safe from various types of harm such as Cyber Threats, Natural Disasters, as well as be proactive in preventing potential threats. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manages implementation of the ER Policy and CoB Standards requirements and other CoB Program elements, including documentation of Business Impact Analysis (BIAs), Business Recovery Plans (BRPs), and Crisis Management Plans (CMPs), testing of BRPs and CMPs, management reporting, training, and awareness for all business units in the supported countries
    • Ensures appropriate business participation in, and execution of, business, crisis management (i.e., call trees), technology, and external third-party testing in the supported countries
    • Develops scenarios and executes annual crisis management tabletop exercises in the supported countries
    • Country Implementation of Crisis Management Standards. Responsible for ensuring the Enhanced Country Crisis Management Plan (ECCMP), Infectious Disease Operation Plan (IDOP) and Cyber Recovery Playbook are complete, compliant, and maintained according to CoB/CSIS Crisis Management Standards.
    • Use CoB and business knowledge to advise the businesses on how to enhance recovery strategies, capabilities, and their CoB plans to mitigate business interruption risk/impact more efficiently and effectively
    • Oversees business unit compliance with local regulatory requirements and Citi Business Continuity Management related requirements in conjunction with the local ICRM and the Regional Business Continuity Management Team(s)
    • Provides direction and support to all Business Recovery Coordinators (BRCs) and Lead Business Recovery Coordinators (LBRCs) in the supported countries
    • Monitor country related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and risk and ensure relevant risk highlighted locally and regionally, corrective action plans are closed within required timeframes
    • Oversight of CoB training and business-level awareness programs
    • Support and implement Regional or Global Continuity of Business Initiatives at the supported countries level
    • Participates and communicates with professional external parties as needed
    • Ensure all country employee Contact information is accurate for Crisis Communication purposes (e.g., Workday, CoB Trac)
    • Facilitates crisis management response and activation of the country Crisis Management Team (CMT).
    • Provides status updates to the Regional Crisis and CBCM teams in the event of an incident/crisis management/CoB invocation within the supported countries.
    • Serves as an Infectious Disease Coordinator responsible for delivering all requirements as outlined in the Infection Disease Operation Plan (organizing meetings, track actions, report country MIS, Coordinate Return Back to Office etc) in the supported countries
    • Support the Regional team with any other coordination and project related activities

    Experience/Knowledge:

    • Business Continuity and audit / compliance / controls experience is desirable
    • Good level of understanding of the core BCM disciplines, BCI or other BCM certification is a plus
    • Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business partners at all levels of the organization
    • Experience with interpretation and application of policies and standards
    • Demonstrated knowledge of applying best practices in effective program delivery e.g., in project management, governance controls, change management and other similar initiatives
    • Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining productive business focused relationships

    Education:

    • University Degree with a specialization in business, accounting/finance.
