Cooks - Restaurant at Nexus Staffing Solutions

Our client, a busy restaurant in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, is seeking three experienced and hardworking Cooks to join its kitchen team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for food preparation and cooking while maintaining consistent quality, hygiene and food-safety standards during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and restaurant standards. 
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality and presentation. 
• Carry out food preparation before service. 
• Handle meat, vegetables and other food ingredients appropriately. 
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene. 
• Follow food safety and proper food-handling procedures. 
• Monitor food portions and minimise wastage. 
• Ensure ingredients are properly stored and handled. 
• Keep kitchen equipment and workstations clean and organised. 
• Work closely with other kitchen team members to ensure timely service. 
• Support opening and closing kitchen duties. 
• Report shortages, damaged equipment or food-quality concerns to the supervisor. 

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant, hotel, café or similar food-service environment. 
• Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques. 
• Ability to prepare a variety of meals consistently. 
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety. 
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure. 
• Good teamwork and communication skills. 
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods. 
• Reliable, disciplined and hardworking. 
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays where required.
