    Country Business Development Manager Agency Sales

    KEY PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To recruit, select and retain quality and talented Advisors through coaching and mentoring
    • To lead the Agency Sales Force into a high performance culture and promote customer centric service in support of high levels of individual life customer engagement and satisfaction
    • To entrench performance based reviews of Agency Managers, Unit Managers and Financial Advisors in line with their set targets in a timely manner
    • To create and manage cost efficiencies and reduction of risks to remain within agreed expense budgets
    • To take full ownership and accountability for achieving set targets through effective management, marketing and development of the Agency Sales Force team.
    • To ensure Agency Sales Force compliance with statutory and internal control processes
    • To proactively seek out new markets and creatively penetrate them through offering unique product and value propositions.
    • To grow and defend the market-share through constant engagement with the market to understand gaps and competitor activities that can be leveraged on and for competitive position of the brand respectively
    • To strategically drive check-off business both local and national (private sector, government and Teachers Service Commission) through effective allocation of Advisors to worksites/employers
    • To drive employer market activations through the activation fund to grow and maintain a robust pipeline for advisors to mine business
    • To support Advisors to validate their contracts in terms of regulatory requirements and minimum production standards, through coaching, sales motivation and effective management of sales incentives.
    • To constantly exude energy and positivity, and communicate the possibilities to keep the drive alive in the Advisors.
    • To ensure Advisors carry out need-based selling through financial wellness program
    • To drive Financial Advisors to embrace change and achieve both their personal goals and business targets
    • To drive APA Life dominance across employer markets through provision of financial wellness program and individual life solutions in order to deepen our penetration in select Kenyan companies.

    ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Marketing/Insurance or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

    • Self-driven leader with the ability to influence and inspire teams
    • Resilient, results oriented, dynamic and change oriented.
    • Good intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.
    • Develops and monitors change plans ensuring they are effectively implemented
    • Understands and applies commercial and financial principles in the evaluation of business practices and processes.
    • Views issues in terms of costs, profits, markets, added value and return on investment.
    • Anticipates and evaluates the impact of own work and that of the channel on profits.
    • Appreciates the dynamic relationships between the organization’s structure, goals and capabilities
    • Ability to develop, analyze sales reports and build insights that feed into the sales strategy.
    • Ability to manage various stakeholders and respond to business dynamics.

    PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • ACII/AIIK or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
    • COP Qualification
    • Member of a relevant professional industry related body

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least 8 years of experience in selling of life insurance products 
    • Previous experience as an insurance commissioned agent 
    • Previous experience in managing life insurance sales team 
    • Understanding of retail sales dynamics
