    County Legal Counsel III/Legal Clerk Assistant I  (1 POST)

    REF/MCPSB/373/2022

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Oversee drafting and filing of legal documents in registries
    2. Coordinate the filing of service of legal documents in courts of law;
    3. Undertake routine errands to public registries, courts and other relevant offices:
    4. Ensure that cataloguing, abstracting, indexing and filing of case files, requiring In-depth treatment of subject matter is
    5. Establish, strengthen and maintain both hard and soft filing system in such a way that is responsive to the county government’s record keeping needs and keeps the filing system up to date all the
    6. Coordinate the filing of service of legal documents in courts of Law;
    7. Handling and managing litigation files from inception through
    8. Attending Court Registry to peruse file proceedings/records
    9. Receiving Legal correspondences and Making bring-ups in the Legal Office
    10. Any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time by the County Attorney.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Be a Kenyan citizen;
    2. Bachelors of Laws (LLB) or Diploma in Law or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    3. Post graduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law/Advocate of the High Court;
    4. Experience in law firm will be an added advantage;
    5. Fluency in English and good writing skills;
    6. Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the constitution of Kenya on leadership and integrity;

    1. Hand delivered applications should be dropped at the offices of the Migori County Public Service Board located at Nyamome along Namba – Masara road adjacent to Nyamome SDA church.
    2. All applications should reach the Secretary/CEO Migori County Public Service Board on or before Thursday 31st March, 2022 at 5:00pm.
    3. Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original identity cards, academic and professional certificates and testimonials.
    4. For candidates to meet the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, applicants must obtain the following clearances:
    • Tax compliance certificate from KRA
    • Clearance certificate from HELB
    • Clearance certificate from Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (EACC)
    • Certificate of good conduct from Criminal Investigation Department
