A minimum of Bachelor degree in Social Sciences with a bias in Anthropology, Social Work, Sociology, Counseling Psychology, or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution.
KCSE or its Equivalent. Bachelor degree in social science and any other relevant field from a recognized institution.
Minimum level of professional qualification required to perform effectively in the role
Registered practitioner with Kenya National Association of Social Workers, & Kenya Counseling Association
Five (5) years’ experience, (2) years of which must have been working with children, the Aged, PWDs and other vulnerable families either in Public Service or Private Sector
Ten (10) years’ experience, five (5) years of which must have been working with children, the Aged, PWDs and other vulnerable families.
Possess Leadership skills, Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Organizational skills, Ability to work under pressure, Negotiation skills, Ability to build and lead cohesive teams, Problem solving skills
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and integrity.
Job Description
Overall managerial roles and provision of strategic leadership and direction, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling and coordinating.
Overseeing county childcare facilities and care for the elderly.
Development of departmental/division work plans, action plans, budgetary projections, performance targets, and procurement plans.
Overseeing proper utilization of resources
Risk management, corruption prevention and awareness programs.
Facilitate programs and institutions for children care, protection and development.
Coordinate family and children services in the County
Formulation and implementation of policies and legislations on Gender and social development
Planning, coordination and implementation of rescue, rehabilitation, reintegration and resocialization of street and other vulnerable persons.
Coordination of Supervision and inspection of childcare facilities and OVC support mechanisms.
Planning, Coordination and implementation of psychosocial support programmes.
Development and implementation of policies and other legal framework under childcare, social protection and care for the aged.
Monitoring and evaluation of programmes
Preparation of departmental budgets & procurement plans
Requisition of funds for departmental programs implementation.
