    Deputy Director, Information Communication Technology

    Job Ref. No KEMSA/CSD/2022/002,

    Scope of Work /Duties /Responsibilities

    • Overseeing formulation and implementation of ICT policies, strategies, and procedures;
    • Ensuring adoption and adherence to ICT standards;
    • Coordinating the management of designs and implementation of ICT systems, infrastructure, and projects;
    • Coordinating administration and implementation of ICT policies and procedures;
    • Overseeing establishment and implementation of ICT data protection systems;
    • Overseeing the developing work plans and budgets for the ICT department;
    • Coordinating the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems;
    • Carrying out systems analysis, design, and programmer specifications in liaison with users;
    • Ensuring adherence to established ICT standards;
    • Coordinating the installation certification, repairs and maintenance of Information Communication Technology equipment, solutions, and associated peripherals;

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Information Technology, Computer Science, Business IT, Software Engineering, ICT Project Management, Computer Engineering, or their equivalent from a
    • recognized Institution;
    • Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Information Technology, Computer Science, Business IT, Software Engineering, ICT Project Management, Computer Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution; 
    • PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent Project Management Certification;
    • At least one IT management certification CompTIA Project+, CAPM, CGEIT, CSM, CISSP, COBIT or other equivalent qualifications;
    • At least one information Security certification CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, GSEC or other equivalent qualifications;
    • At least any two (2) certifications from relevant professional bodies in either CCNP, CDCP, CCNA Cloud, CCNA Industrial/IoT, CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, MCSD, N+, A+ OCA, CISSP, Linux+, Network+, Microsoft
    • Certified IT Professional (MCITP), CISA, CISM, CGEIT or other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
    • CISA Membership or an equivalent ICT professional body in good standing;
    • Leadership Development Course from a recognized institution;
    • Certificate in Management Course from a recognized institution;
    • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution

    Experience

    • A minimum period of ten (10) years in relevant work experience and at least three (3) years in a Supervisory position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
