    Digital Artist

    Under the guidance of the of the Editorial Committee the selected Digital Artist will develop high quality and original graphics materials to illustrate the use of Earth observation and geo-spatial services in addressing societal development challenges in Eastern and Southern Africa and highlight the value of geospatial services offered by SERVIR. The Digital Artistwill contribute to the development and improvement of the design and layout of the book with about 15 chapters. In additional, the Digital Artist will be develop illustrations for the RIC 2022.

    Expected deliverables

    • Artwork, Infographics and Illustrationsfor all the chapters and RIC 2022 for easy understanding of technical writing
    • Designed layout with text and images presented in a creatively designed document
    • Art-work editing of photos and other graphic elements

    Technical Requirements

    • Demonstrated ability to create infographics, artwork and illustrations following a concept described either in writing or verbally.
    • Excellent skills in creating, editing and manipulating digital graphics using relevant software. Ability to save the infographics, artwork or illustrations in digital formats that are easily usable by publishers.
    • Samples of outputs, preferably as evidence of work done by the individual for an international organization, government or other reputable organization.
    • A minimum four years of experience working as a graphic designer with International Government Organizations or Multinationals Corporates
    • Experience in producing designs on Earth Observation and geospatial technology will be an added advantage
    • Must possess and/or have access to the equipment and software necessary for creating graphic designs and writing/editing text in English, as well as software to create infographics and overlays
    • Strong graphic design skills, including the mastery of all standard design software included in the Adobe Creative Suite
