Duties & Responsibilities

• Research and present to the committee potential sectors for funding
• Review funding to various sectors
• Research and involve the cooperative sector in expanding and shaping/looking on the activities to be funded
• Develop and maintain clear procedures and roles for different cooperative sectors
• Ensure the staff and committee are fully briefed on opportunities and implication in new funding proposals or areas
• Assess the impact of new services on the cooperative sector, and in Liaison with staff, ensure arrangement and procedures are put in place to achieve viable and effective implementation
• Keep committee diary, files and invite committee for meetings
• Take minutes during committee meetings
• Brief and update the committee on new developments in the market and strategies to expansion of the fund activities
• Provide prompt and practical assesses of risks and opportunities arising from all fund activities; drawing on the inputs of other staff members
• Ensure that the interest of all cooperative sectors is considered in any new fund policies and regulation
• Develop and maintain records of all the fund resources and activities and objectives
• Find opportunities to work with other organization /stakeholders to increase the fund activity, raise the funds available or to add new fund streams for the cooperative sector
• Manage staff and other resources/ assests of the unit
• Prepare reports for all the loan applications appraisal and disbursement
• Adhere to fund policies rules and regulations in the appraisal, disbursement and information for all the loan disbursement
• Ensure reconciliation of the loan book and disbursement
• Ensure loan disbursement is transparent and done within time
• Ensure clients are advised on time
• Ensure repayments are timely and up to date
• Ensure loan defaulters are advised and reminded with timely and rigorous follow up
• Perform any other function as conferred by the Act time to time

Requirements for Appointment

1. Degree in business related field from a recognized University
2. At least 7 years’ experience in management from a public financial institution
3. Proven experience in enterprise and project management
4. Experience in working with multi-agency teams
5. Experience in preparing and presenting information in a variety of formats including reports, presentation and enterprise bids.
6. Innovative and creative thinking
7. Excellent communications skills
8. Ability to work with various teams internally and externally
9. Satisfies the provision of chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya
