Director – Legal Services at Nairobi City County Public Service Board

Job Requirement

A person shall be qualified to be appointed as the Director Legal Services if:

• That person holds a Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized University;
• Is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in good standing;
• Has at least 5 years’ continuous practice post admission to the bar;
• Meets the Requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010;
• Has at least three 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role;
•  Is an excellent researcher;
• Possesses a certificate in Senior Management Course from a recognized Institution.
• Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.

Job Description

• The primary objective of the office of the Director Legal Services will be to oversee the effective implementation of the functions of the directorate augment the capacity of the office of the County Attorney in carrying out its mandate under the office of the county attorney by providing legal support across all the ten (10) sectors in the Nairobi County Executive.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the County Attorney the Director Legal Services will be responsible for:

• Offering legal support to County Sectors, Departments and entities.
•  Being the liaison between the Office of the County Attorney and various County Sectors and department.
•  Representing the County Attorney in various County Sectors and departments.
• Facilitating expeditious legal support to County Sectors and Departments.
• Advising County Sectors on various legal issues touching on respective sectors.
• Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
