Electrical Technician at Platinum Outsourcing and Logistics

• To ensure availability, reliability and efficiency of plant, equipment, utilities and building facilities in terms of all electrical functions for optimum operations

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components, including wiring, fixtures, and appliances.
• Carry out preventive maintenance of machines according to established procedures to ensure smooth operations
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layouts and installation procedures.
• Test electrical systems and components for functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Replace or repair faulty electrical components, such as switches, outlets, and circuit breakers.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards in all work activities.
• Collaborate with other trades and contractors on construction projects to ensure proper coordination of electrical work.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other maintenance staff or apprentices.
• Keep abreast of developments in electrical technology, codes, and standards.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and electrical hazards.
• Respond to emergency calls and service requests to address electrical issues promptly.
• Estimate material and labor costs for electrical projects and repairs.
• Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure timely completion of work and customer satisfaction.
• Improve on the electrical Maintenance procedures and effectiveness of electrical maintenance activities, and hence maintenance cost,
• Energy management; Reduce Electricity consumption(kwh/FG), improve electrical safety

Qualifications

• Must be conversant with feed-milling machines or bulk materials handling and processing in terms of maintenance, repair and overhaul.
• Holder of Higher Diploma/Diploma in electrical/electronic engineering or mechatronic engineering from a reputable institution,
• Conversant with computer use including all computer packages such as office 365 and more.
• Over 5 years of sound continuous and detailed experience in manufacturing relative to electrical engineering /maintenance functions to ISO/QMS.
