    Enterprise Development Officer

    • While reporting to the Enterprise Development Manager, the Enterprise Development Officer, will manage assigned portfolio investments. You will work in liaison with the investment and enterprise development teams to;
    • Induction of Investees for enterprises receiving support, ensuring that agreements/contracts align with organizational policies and objectives.
    • Acts as the primary relationship person for the climate -impact enterprises with KCV portfolio investees.
    • Follow up on condition precedents to disbursement and covenants in the contract to manage funds disbursement to investees.
    • Monitor business performance and compliance with contractual agreements and company policies.
    • Provide technical assistance and business development support to portfolio investees.
    • Conduct regular assessments and site visits to evaluate performance against established benchmarks and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports on enterprises' performance, including financial performance, impact metrics, and compliance with contractual obligations.
    • Identify opportunities for linkage to support enterprise growth, including partnerships with investors and financial institutions.
    • Monitor repayment schedules and ensure compliance with financial agreements, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
    • Develop and implement exit strategies for enterprises at the end of the contractual period, ensuring a smooth transition and continued sustainability of operations.
    • Manage exit and evaluate the impact of KCV’s support and gather lessons learned for future initiatives.
    • Organise and facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building activities for the portfolio companies.
    • Monitor and manage portfolio risk in accordance with KCV Risk and Compliance
    • Coordinate and manage Interns in Enterprise Development Department.
    • Coordinate team activities, as may be assigned.

    Do you have what it takes?

    Core capabilities

    • Proven experience in coordinating portfolio with structured technical assistance and business development support to enterprises.
    • Experience in monitoring enterprises which apply climate lens, gender lens and/ or refugee lens investment.
    • Must possess good understanding of SGBs financing and support, private sector.
    • Must possess understanding of climate financing.
    • Proven experience in industry stakeholders’ management.
    • A good understanding of rural and/or financial services markets in Kenya.
    • Possess analytical skills with high attention to detail.
    • A strong business perspective, preferably with experience working in a financial institution or development financing institution.
    • Experience in working in Sub Saharan Africa is an added advantage.
    • Possess excellent command of the English language skills both writing and speaking.

    Qualifications required

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance and economics, or any related technical fields.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional accounting certification is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: finance, agribusiness, SME finance, renewable energy, forestry, water, waste and circularity.
    • 3 - 5 years of experience in financial and portfolio management, with the ability to review, analyse and interpret budgets, financial management systems; financial statements (including balance sheets as well as income and expenditure, and cash flow statements and audit reports.
