Enterprise Domain Architect - Data & Analytics at KCB Bank Kenya

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy for Data & Analytics, aligning it with the Bank's business goals and objectives.
•  Develop and maintain the high level and low-level architecture blueprints of data and analytics domain.
•  Architect analytics solutions and capabilities such as data mining, predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, to extract actionable insights from data and drive strategic decision-making, risk management, and customer engagement.
•  Design data integration solutions to facilitate seamless data exchange and interoperability between disparate systems, applications, and business units, enabling a unified view of enterprise data.
•  Collaborate with business leaders, data scientists, and Technology teams to understand data requirements and formulate an architecture that enables efficient and effective analytics.
•  Support in the selection and implementation of data platforms and technologies to enable the collection, storage, and processing of large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
•  Optimize data infrastructure architecture to improve performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, leveraging cloud computing, containerization, and other modern technologies to support evolving business needs.
•  Provide technical leadership for data initiatives and projects from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives, project timelines, and budget constraints.
•  Explore emerging trends and technologies in data management, analytics, and artificial intelligence, and assess their applicability to the bank's data strategy, driving innovation and competitive advantage.
•  Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data and analytics architectures, standards, and guidelines.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Work closely with data engineering teams to define data integration strategies and design scalable data pipelines.
•  Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions and tools that enhance the bank's data and analytics capabilities.
•  Engage with business stakeholders to understand analytics requirements and translate them into data architecture solutions.
•   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with architectural standards and facilitate effective communication.
•  Develop action plans to  close capabilities  gaps in the subject domain area while addressing the accrued technical debt in the data domain

Academic & Professional

Education    

• Bachelor’s Degree   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study   RQ
• Masters Degree Technology / Business   AA

Professional Qualifications  

• TOGAF   DE
• Database Administration Certifications   DE
• Data Management & Analytics Certification   
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect.
• Cloud Solutions Architect (AWS or Azure or GCP)   RQ

Experience

• Excellent understanding of software delivery processes, and methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, hybrid) & DevOps   3   ES
